History of Bayshore Materials

In l964, Louis Orantes and his father, Francisco Orantes, purchased the business known as Bayshore Wreckers, and changed the name to Bayshore Materials, Inc.

In 1964, the business consisted of about 70% used building materials and about 30% new building materials.  Slowly afterwards, the business grew with more new building materials, and less used building materials.  Today, the business is 90% new building and 10% used building materials.

In l974, they introduced the very popular Concrete U-Cart Trailer with wet cement to take home for the do-it-yourself market. In 1983, Francisco Orantes retired and Louis's son, Keith Orantes joined the company.

In l991 they started delivering wet concrete in their new 4-yard concrete delivery truck. Another 4-yard concrete delivery truck was purchased in 2001 to keep up with they growing demand.  They now have 15 trailers and two 4-yard concrete delivery trucks that are available seven days a week.  Plus they have two dump trucks capable of delivering up to 10 yards of landscape materials.

Keith Orantes has been a valued addition in the helping this business grow.  Over the past few years they have become dealer for some major manufactures such as: Basalite Block Company, McNear Brick & blocks, La Habra Stucco Products, Davis Colors for Concrete & Mortar, A.D.S. Drainage Pipe &Fittings, W.R. Meadows Curing Compounds, Rafco Brickform Concrete stamping and Color Hardners & Releases. More products are constantly being added to provide our customers with the latest in building materials available.
